Baby Center is seeking healthcare providers.

If you regularly see American Indian and/or Alaska Native (AI/AN) patients and provide specialist referrals (oncology, neurology, ophthalmology) then the CATORI study is an opportunity for your patients to share their AI/AN healthcare experiences. There are multiple ways you as a provider can participate in the study.

Fill out the contact form below to express your interest in this study, and a member of our team will be in touch with more information.

What is this research about and how does it work?

American Indians and Alaska Natives have a higher rate of chronic diseases than most other races/ethnicities, that can be prevented, managed, or treated with the help of specialists. However, many American Indians and Alaska Natives lack access to specialty care. The purpose of this study is to better understand the experiences of American Indians and Alaska Natives with first-time referrals to oncologists, neurologists, and/or ophthalmologists.

The study gives patients the option to participate both virtually or in-person. As a physician, you may refer patients to the virtual site or participate as an in-person study site. You should continue with your patients’ care as usual, as this is a 12-month long observational study to learn about real-world AI/AN healthcare experiences.

How can I participate as a physician?

There are three ways you can participate in this study:

Referral Site: You’ll post information about the study in your clinic. Your patients will follow steps from information on their own. You will not be responsible for any study related activities. Study activities are completed by the Virtual Site.

Traditional Site: As a brick and mortar, in-person site, you will be responsible for conducting the study at your site. This includes activities like informing your eligible AI/AN patients of the study, screening, consenting, enrolling and completing study visits at your clinic.

Active Referral Site: Inform eligible AI/AN patients of the study and be a resource for them on initial questions. However, study activities are completed by the virtual site. You should continue patients’ care as usual.
